Grecia - MEC Exhibition Centre - Atenas
http://www.oenorama.com/Oenorama is a professional, wine trade exhibition open, by invitation, to some members of the general public. It is the most important showcase for Greek wines (although there are many imported wines as well), incorporating Oenotechnica, a show-within-the show with viti-vinicultural equipment.
Entrance to the exhibition is free for those who pre-register by March 17th, preferably through this website. Otherwise, the entrance fee on the day of the exhibition will be 15 euros, with registration taking place on the spot.
Those of you who have visited Oenorama in the past, will be pleased to know that we have changed venues, to the Mediterranean Exhibition Center in the Peania suburb, close to Athens’ new international airport. Foreign visitors can choose from any number of hotels situated within a 10’ drive from the fair or head for the excitement of downtown Athens and use public transportation to visit Oenorama. Generally speaking, it is best to use taxis which are still relatively inexpensive in Greece…
Oenorama is probably the only exhibition in Greece that forbids smoking but be prepared to suffocate in all Greek restaurants and other social gatherings! Also, although we support wine education, we are obliged to close the exhibition to those who are under 18.
We would also like to inform all drivers that the police have been informed of Oenorama and will be holding breathalyser tests at various points around the exhibition. Remember: one does not have to swallow to appreciate wine!
We wish you a happy and productive visit to Oenorama & Oenotechnica 2008.
WHO ORGANIZES OENORAMA ?
Oenorama is organized by Vinetum, a company specializing in communication among people involved in wine. Vinetum staff and collaborators have excellent knowledge of matters pertaining to the wine and vine-growing sectors.
Besides Oenorama, Vinetum organizes every two years, alternating with Oenorama, the consumer-targeted fair “Dionysia” as well as other wine-related events such as Nectar, Afros & Fyssalides (Sparkling Bubbles), (Pro)gefsi Nemeas (A Foretaste of Nemea), Oeni Peloponnissou fysika (Peloponnese Wines, naturally), and others.
Vinetum also publishes “Ambelotopi”, the monthly journal on wine.
