Chile - Santiago
http://www.lizcaskey.com/Late April in Chile is the gorgeous onset of early fall with pleasant temperatures, fall colors, and for wine lovers, the attraction is the red wine harvest that will be in full swing in Chile's central valley.
We invite you to join us and the locals on an intimate, weeklong tour of Liz Caskey’s adopted homeland to discover the soul of central Chile through dazzling wines, authentic cuisine, extraordinary unspoiled terrain, picturesque colonial towns and festivals, and the passionate faces behind Chile's wine scene, little discovered (first hand) by much of the world.
We meet in bustling Santiago and then journey into the fertile fruit and wine country to taste lush wines like the flagship Carmenere and taste the terroir of small winery projects in private visits, barrel and vertical tastings, exclusive luncheons, and meetings with the winemaker and/or owners. Here we also pepper our days with meeting charismatic producers at small organic farms; cheese makers of local favorites like mantecoso and creamy goat cheese, and artisan liquors.
