This festival is for you. No previous knowledge of wine is required so let us introduce you to the wonderful world of wine.

The enjoyment of wine is greatly enhanced by having knowledge of the vines and the ability to assess it correctly. Because we love wine, we would really like to share this knowledge with you.

Imagine over 115 wine labels magnificently set up in a large atrium showcasing 850 of South Africa’s top wines – new and well known labels, from red and white, sweet and dry, as well as sparkling and cap classique – all for you to swirl, smell, taste and spit.
Finding your favourites wines and learning which foods go best with what wines is what we are all about.

This festival is a fun and exciting introduction to the wonderful world of South African wines. You will learn how to fully enjoy your bottle of wine at home or in a restaurant, and we hope it will get you excited enough to want to further your knowledge on wines and share it with others.

You will interact with labels you know and labels that are new to you. Your will meet the winemakers, and producers and perhaps the first black woman winemaker in South Africa as well as other remarkable empowerment wine producers such as Ses’fikile, Thokozani Wines, Women In Wine, Vunani Wine to name a few.

The festival has grown from strength to strength, each year cementing and forging new relationships between sponsors, consumers, exhibitors and retailers.

The Standard Bank Soweto Wine Festival provides a major platform for sponsors’ brands, along with the exhibiting of premium wine producers, to fully engage and directly interact with those businesses and consumers that are attracted to the festival in their 1000’s.
